Wizard of Legend II, a roguelike quest centered on spellcasters attempting to become mythical figures, makes its debut to Nintendo's console later this month. Gamers can get accessible Nov. 25, offering fans of couch co-op experiences a second chance to check out one among 2025's top-tier entries in the genre.
Wizard of Legend II has followed the roadmap of many niche games. The developer released it in early access in late 2024 on PC platforms, before launching it in full, together with PS5 and Xbox iterations, in the summer of 2025. At launch, it was widely panned. Only 29 percent of its user reviews are positive. The feedback on Steam were "varied", based on almost 2,000 reviews, with numerous gamers pointing out the overall roughness and abundance of technical issues initially. Console players further criticized that the co-op feature, a major attraction for the title, largely didn't work.
Yet similar to numerous pre-release games that release in rough states, The Wizard of Legend Sequel has improved. Over the past few months, the creators have rolled out a series of patches intended to address these concerns. Having played The Wizard of Legend Sequel more than every other recent title recently, one can assert it's a bit more functional than it was upon release (on console, at least). It has reached the stage where nine times out of ten, I can actually get a co-op session to work. Not bad!
Moreover when Wizard of Legend II functions, it performs excellently. From an isometric perspective, you navigate element-based levels by using magic in action-oriented mechanics. Plenty of sprinting, a great deal of avoiding, a great deal of handling spell delays. It's extremely quick and highly imaginative; through blending your abilities with a friend's, you can unleash some devastating combinations.
Although the Switch version hasn't been comprehensively reviewed, it's important to remember the very demanding quality standards for Nintendo titles. Its creators mentioned in a news release that the Nintendo release of Wizard of Legend 2 incorporates every patch that have been released in the current year.
