BF6 Gamers Concur: Challenges Are Overly Demanding

The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received broad praise, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures peaked at nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are protesting against some of the game's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Gamers have begun using custom matches created through Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, highlighting just how demanding these assignments have become.

Comprehending BF6 Assignments

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. The game includes four classes of assignments, but where most simply offer skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of acquiring twelve from the forty-one primary weapons available in the game.

Some of these restricted firearms could shortly make their appearance on rosters of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry across Reddit

Within Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so atrocious and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you want to be. The same user also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Extremely Difficult Task

Another Reddit user highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns over 200m with long-range weapons

This is challenging enough on its own, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at such a long range.

There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing a specific urban map, Mirak Valley, and maybe an additional option at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away.

The Alternative Method

However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.

But when doing the challenges in a standard match feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for grinding them out in a private match so allies are not impaired?

Potential Changes

It is expected if several of these tasks are made easier in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the gated weapons.

At the moment, the community continues to share their thoughts on these demanding in-game tasks, anticipating a less arduous gaming experience in future updates.
